Step-by-Step: Connecting Coba with Upwork

1. Sign in to Upwork

  • Open the Upwork website or app and sign in to your account.

  • Navigate to the "Settings" section by clicking on your profile picture in the top-right corner.

  • Select “Get Paid” from the left-hand menu.

2. Choose Your Payment Method

  • Once in the “Get Paid” section, you'll see an option to 'Add a Method'.

  • Select Direct to US Bank (USD) as your preferred payment method.

  • Then, you will now need to input your Coba US Deposit Account details:

    • Account Number: This can be found within the Coba App under Account Details.

    • Routing Number: Also located in your Account Details within the Coba App.

    • Account Holder Name: Input your full name (as registered with Coba) and confirm the information is correct.

    • Account type: Make sure to select 'Checkin Account'

3. Verification Process

  • Upwork will verify your account by making two small test deposits into your Coba account. This process ensures that the bank details you've provided are accurate.

  • Open your Coba app, check your transaction history, and take note of the small deposit amounts from Upwork.

4. Confirm Your Coba Account on Upwork

  • Return to Upwork once the test deposits appear in your Coba account (usually within 2 business days).

  • Go back to the “Get Paid” section in Settings and enter the exact amounts of the test deposits to verify your account.

  • Once verified, your Coba account is successfully linked, and you can receive payments directly from Upwork into your Coba account.

  • Avoid connecting to Upwork or the Coba app using public Wi-Fi or untrusted networks. Use a secure connection whenever possible.

  • Double-check all the details before submitting. Ensure your Account Number and Routing Number are entered correctly and don't share them with anyone else.

  • Ensure that your full name on Upwork matches the name registered with Coba.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: What if I don't see the test deposits in my Coba account?
A: Test deposits may take up to 2 business days. If you don’t see them after this time, double-check that your bank details were entered correctly on Upwork. If the problem persists, contact Upwork Support or the Coba Help Center.

Q: Can I link more than one Coba account to Upwork?
A: You can only link one bank account to your Upwork profile at a time. If you need to switch accounts, you'll need to remove the old one and follow this process again.

Q: What currencies can I receive payments in from Upwork?
A: Upwork will pay you in USD, and Coba will store your balance in USD. You can easily convert your balance to MXN using Coba’s FX features whenever needed.
